Server

The ILYX server is a Java WAR on Tomcat. Collection and the screen do not share a socket.

Collect — Oracle, WAS (J2EE), and host agents send metrics over TCP. The WAS side is received with Netty.
Show — the browser console takes live charts over WebSocket. Lookups and settings use HTTP.
Store — monitoring metadata and statistics sit in a repository database. Some time series sit in files.

Engines turn on from configuration. Oracle, PostgreSQL, WAS, the host, and the site monitor share the same startup path.

Recent collection path

The J2EE agent 1.0.7 notes include the handshake wire. New Ilyx packets exchange a session key immediately after the TCP connection, then send the body. Older packet formats can still be accepted.

Charts and deployment

Charts use Apache ECharts. Steps for placing the server on Oracle RDS and PostgreSQL RDS are written up as deployment notes.

Version

The server version on 1 October 2026 is 3.2.7. Version history lives in the repository release notes and commits, separate from the GitHub Releases list.
